LIDO-LANG Technical Translations has implemented yet another vital CAT tool. The company has been using the XTM system by the London XML-INTL for several weeks already. The purchase was co-funded by the EU under a grant for B2B projects.

Not only does the XTM system allow us to work online, but is also integrated with our XTRF™, which expands the field of its application, automating our internal processes" -  says Andrzej Nedoma, LIDO-LANG’s Managing Director.

XTM can be used online, which means the translation project can be accessed by the subcontractor from a specially generated website, with no need to install the programme. The work is always carried out with the aid of the latest XTM version and the company has full control over the translation process and deadlines.

Another advantage of XTM is an option of engaging several translators, who can simultaneously work on the same project online. In such cases, the text is divided into sections, which are worked on by particular subcontractors. The system ensures translation coherence due to the up-to-date, fully accessible Translation Memory and glossaries, which are built up on a cumulative basis by the translators as they work on the project. Working online also facilitates the work of the proofreader, as the translation can be verified and corrected at any point during the project delivery, in turn allowing for instant TM update.
